  Marriage Consummation - emailed question has me stumped

  i received an email from a jw that got married, but the wife never had sex with him.

  they were together for a period of years.

  he told the elders, but they said there was nothing that could be done.

  They disfellowship people who HAVEN'T had sex but have stayed under the same roof over night when they see fit, (yeah like no one has sex during the day ... ) because of appearances.

  So using that level of awesome logic then it would follow that consumation of the marriage mean diddly squat as regards anything in WTBTS land. After all appearances are everything, so people know they were married, people assume they had sex of some sort at some time, ... tricky proving a negative and they dont take anyones word for it unless it suits them.

  Well she could be right, unless you have done the research and proven to yourself that it is utter bollocks then there is always the possibility you could return, especially if your life nosedives somehow and you need the warm and fuzzies again.

  That she said this shows a depth of thought and perception worth pursuing, the rest is up to you and all the obvious advice would be to take it slow.

  The Pastor of my Old Church Tried to Re-Convert Me Yesterday

  we met them when i was a christian and we have kept in touch.

  they had a few other friends there as well, including the new church pastor and his wife.

  What are the feelings/thoughts within 24-48 hours of exposure to an undeniably true (for you) TATT?

  many of us know where we were during 9/11 or when john kennedy and martin luther king were killed.. it seems that when faced with ttatt, real truth is dismissed as "ol' light" or "an imperfect group of men" but from what i gather, many of you, at some point, were hit with a component of ttatt that shattered all of those cliches that allowed you to brush off the obvious reality that something was very wrong.

  some of you may remember the hours following your earliest exposures to an undeniably true tatt.

  Lots of swearing, emotional buzz probably just adrenalin, then a period of near obsession with it. Feelings can swing to anger and back to happyness several times before settling down. I remember the good feeling that came with the sheer mental freedom to actually question everything in my own mind and allowing myself to say out loud to myself thoughts and words forbidden by the cult. Simply vocalising the phrase "it's a f@cking cult" for the 1st time was cathartic.

  607 was the killer blow for me, I'd seen plenty of fluff (from my viewpoint at that time) as to what was wrong with the WTBTS etc and nothing really clicked until I got down to solid proof that a foundational doctrine was utter bollocks.

  i would like to share my understanding of armageddon & the end of the 1,000 year reign.

  i would really appreciate any criticism, or facts that dispute this understanding... especially if the facts are from the bible.. - adam & eve were perfect and they sinned with a perfect mind & body.. - all mankind that has lived since adam & eve have been imperfect, none have had the ability to resist sin, nor have they had the ability to see or understant absolute truth that can only originate from god.. - if imperfect humans were judged, while still imperfect, one could reason that adam & eve had been given a better chance at life then what the rest of humanity was given.. - 1 john 4:8,9.

  - 1 timothy 2:6. armageddon.

  As Jgnat hinted at, you need to understand how and why we have the bible we do before jumping to the next level of believing it a certain way and any spin or interpretation of a particular translation of it.

  Someone I know wants to go back to the meetings

  i am presently fadding out and a person that i know sent me an email telling me he was going back to his meeting.

  how can i let him know that i think he probably will be better outside if he keeps trying without running the risk that he goes back and forward the email to a local elder?.
